Sara and Kyle talk this week with Anthony Taylor, a stalwart in the national bike advocacy movement. Anthony is a founding member of the Major Taylor Bicycling Club of Minnesota and The National Brotherhood of Cyclists. Anthony shares a brief history of 1890’s international cycling champion, Marshall “Major” Taylor, the origins of cycling clubs named in his honor, and the role these clubs play today in shaping bicycle advocacy. Anthony discusses the expanding base of support for cycling through U.S. communities, and the need for traditional biking advocates to look beyond the bike lane to be most effective, especially in historically underserved neighborhoods.
